The combat and mechanics are a little simplistic, but they were smooth, well balanced, and IMO weren't the center point of the game. The storyline was great, and they did a really good job representing the shadowrun universe.

If you're going in expecting the depth of the Pen and Paper game, you're going to be dissapointed.

Shadowrun game is fun if you liked it in 93. Otherwise, not going to satisfy as an iso-RPG (n/t)

Isn't it a turn based strategy game?

vortexmagus August 07, 2013 12:44PM

Well, not really. It's an RPG with turn-based combat. (n/t)

So it's less X-Com and more final fantasy? Or more baldur's gate? I'd actually prefer that. (n/t)

More Baldur's Gate if there was no choices. Well, shit, unsure about X-Com, close. (n/t)

It is, and good turn based strategies make the best games.

I never checked that one out. You guys, it's not like a Civ or something. I realize it's linear, but still more of an RPG. (n/t)

If you actually like turn based strategy games, then you'll probably enjoy fire emblem.

vortexmagus August 07, 2013 04:26PM

I'll check it out, but besides Alpha Centauri not into turn-based strategy games. (n/t)
