I don't really "do" macs.

But no the Fan should not be running full tilt.

Either someone did a shoddy job reapplying thermal paste. or reseating the heatsink itself, or blocked the airflow somehow.. or even damaged the fan.

Just take it back. Be insistant. Laptops should not do that. Especially not overpriced ones.
