I applied to a fairly high ranked Nursing school, in the past few weeks I've met a few Nurses that all applied and failed to get in to this program, some of these people attempted multiple times, had better GPA's etc.

I just received my acceptance letter, Muwhahah. Two years, then the choice between sticking with the filthy man animal or taking two more classes and going after the entire animal kingdom!
