You following EU politics?

What is your prediction on whether the EU can hold itself together and further centralize the different parts of the EU?

I'm somewhat pessimistic, I think the EU ill-configured in present implementation (single monetary policy, different fiscal policies throughout countries, pretty much totally separate local governments), and there are large powers outside of the EU which do not want it to be united into a larger bloc.

And Merkel is going to be leading another coalition after September's elections, I'm guessing. I don't see any acknowledgement in her policies that the EU needs overhauling: seems to be cautious, incremental work going forward, keeping the status quo (which isn't working).
