Ever since I read Gardens of the Moon and Deadhouse gates hes been my favourite author. If you want to start reading him, make *sure* you get the first two books, Gardens of the Moon itself is a tad confusing the first time you read it but it all comes together after Deadhouse Gates (Which in itself is just outstanding, the chain of dogs is the best "battle" in a book of this kind I've ever read.)

Most people compare Erikson's style and the depth of his books to The Black Company by Glen Cook, if you've ever read that stellar series.
