My roommate in college found some good deals at Best Buy, and my suggestion is to check the store out. They have different deals at different times, but generally it'll be a good package with all the stuff you need(speakers/subwoofers/whatever). I'm not well-versed as I should be on the matter, but he was able to set it up easy, it looked nice, and the system worked good for our living room. If I remember the name of the brand I'll follow-up post.
