Yeah, I bought my first house at the end of last year so it didn't really apply at all to the taxes I did this year. But I'm stockpiling all my info this year so that I can itemize like a madman come next April. I know I'm likely set up for disappointment regardless. I'm kind of bummed since I was really looking forward to that rebate (I wasn't going to do anything responsible with it. I just wanted $600 in mad cash to mess around with. Gamble, really nice dinner, etc) I just feels wrong when you're getting paid into a higher tax bracket partly due to nescessity of which area you live in. Like my gross annual income is probably equal to like 40k in Topeka but my cost of living puts me on an even playing field and I then have to pay higher taxes. I do benefit by living in the most awesome place in the world...but whatever.
