- That statement is ignorant, unjustified, and based purely on speculation, prejudice, rumor, disinformation and misinformation.
The statement is not ignorant (however ignorantly it was presented by a seemingly ignorant presenter), and certainly not unjustified. It is part speculation, quite likely prejudice on his part, but not at all disinformation or misinformation. Obama has run for a bad crowd for a long time. They may not be his bosom buddies, but there's nothing wrong about asking questions about how deep the relationship ran, or runs, and he's given little but glib answers. I'll use Reverend Wright as a tiny example. Obama did precious little to cut his ties with Reverend Wright when Wrights 'Chickens coming home to roost' and 'Goddamn America' came to light. Only when Wright had the audacity (pun intended) to slight Obama did Obama cut ties to him and get angry. Essentially that said to me, Obama is okay with you trashing his country, but don't you dare trash him! Am I 100% Obama would be a bad President, one without the interests of the whole of America at heart? Not at all. But Obama has done little to explain past connections in anything other than a flip way, or a 'what business is it of yours?' way. I certainly don't like that. I also don't like that he has his wife stump for him, then tells the Republicans 'how dare you attack my wife!'. I don't like him making up the rules as he goes along.
So, to wrap up, there are questions about Obama. It isn't inherently racist or ignorant to ask them. Although RobDarken is quite likely a racist and ignorant, he's right about one thing... there are questions.
