My grandpa served as an Army grunt in Germany right after battle of the bulge. He brought home a German aristocrat wife...she spoke very little English. Anyway, amusing thing is that he brought her from the high life to the rocky hills of Arkansas for the poor life. He cut wood and hay for a living and she drove a school bus. What a change for her...but she's pretty dang cool, glad I get to see them both a lot the past few years. They actually didn't have running water until the early 80s. I know, we used to use the outhouse there.
