I've known a few people who have

There was a guy I played football with in high school whose shoulder would pop out a couple times a season, and the coach would have to slide it back in. Hurt like hell when it was out, but he was usually able to keep playing afterwards. Another guy I know dislocated his shoulder a couple of weeks ago and had to go to the hospital to get it put back. Is really sore for him, and even popped back out a day or two later when he was trying to do something with it requiring another trip to the doctor. So he's taking it really easy now. So, based on my anecdotal experiences, I'd say it depends on how bad you dislocated it. If it's still stiff and sore a few days after, you need to be careful with it and give it more time to heal.

It's a common injury in that sort of sport.
