Re: Looking for Book recomendations

I read Dragonlance when I was in the 7th grade. Well, I read the first 6 books. At the time I liked them, but I suspect that if I were to read them again now I would find them a little trite.

Only new fantasy I've read recently besides R.R. Martin's stuff and Stephen King's Dark Tower books is one called "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. Was pretty decent.

NbM May 12, 2009 02:00PM

Oh, and its not the fantasy theme but "House of Leaves" is a freaking crazy good read nt

If you're looking into dragonlance

vortex_magus May 12, 2009 01:01PM

The Albion Trilogy by Stephen Lawhead

The Baron May 12, 2009 03:10AM

Reading King Raven by him right now, pretty good!

Zoder May 12, 2009 05:33AM

agraemas May 11, 2009 07:56PM

Zoder May 12, 2009 05:31AM

The sequel is actually even better, which is a remarkable achievement n/t

vortex_magus May 12, 2009 03:44AM

You may as well read the Wheel of Time series

Lokain May 11, 2009 07:11PM

I've never finished that series.

cointreau May 11, 2009 09:42PM

Same

Lokain May 12, 2009 09:42AM

Same here.

The Forsaken(VIP) May 12, 2009 04:52AM

How dare you sir!

Matrik May 12, 2009 02:32AM

It is supposed to be finished in the Autumn

abernyte May 12, 2009 04:43AM

I have to agree. That bard guy is sweet too. I got to like book 12 then lost interest. nt

Someone Not Special, Esquire May 13, 2009 09:29AM

Rand is OP, like Wheel of Time Cabdru. nt

DurNominator(VIP) May 12, 2009 11:54AM

I don't think Rand is that powerful n/t

Lokain May 12, 2009 02:55PM

He would be if he knew wtf he was doing. It is like Cabdru's account being hacked by Nivek~

abernyte May 12, 2009 11:57PM

I agree, book 11 was by far the best. I'm also a fan of matrim cauthon. n/t

vortex_magus May 12, 2009 05:41AM

Co-sign, Mat is the best character. In fact Matrik was based loosely off him...to bad I didn't last at hero. n/t

Matrik May 13, 2009 04:04PM

I just read Mistborn, one of the best books I've ever read. Highly recommend it. (nt)

cointreau May 11, 2009 05:32PM

I'll second that, the sequels weren't as good but the first one was very well done.
