Heh.. you guys must not know many chefs or decent cooks.

August 25, 2009 11:09PM
Actually, I'm from North Dakota, so my prejudice naturally says I am a hard worker (ironically I am). I take my job very seriously (have been in the same kitchen for two years, that says a lot). I'm not a drug addict, and I'm not a hobo (though some hobos probably make more money than I do, or at least did in the cities).

I'm actually a reasonably accomplished chef (though I doubt I'll go for any credentials in that field as I'd rather teach in my old age).

And I have long hair.

And anyone who assumes they know who I am because of my long hair, I'd really rather not meet in the first place. Generally, they are douchebags (from both ends of the spectrum).

Though it may aslo be that most people really are just douchebags, I'm uncertain.,

Sounds like a no-brainer based on the advice and your responses below. Good luck, restauranting seems brutal! (n/t)

slimfast August 19, 2009 05:04AM

She's all for it.. but conflicted. Of course I'd talk to her about it. n/t

Someone Not Special, Esquire August 19, 2009 10:33AM

Cosimo August 25, 2009 07:26PM

Just because you're attracted to men instead doesn't mean you need to hate on women. nt

slimfast August 19, 2009 07:22AM

Oh, I love women. I just think they're only good for certain things NT

reject-o August 19, 2009 04:55AM

Starscream August 19, 2009 05:06AM

Why not just tell the female to grow some balls?

reject-o August 19, 2009 10:41AM

Those are stupid comparisons.

Starscream August 19, 2009 11:01AM

I think its unreasonable for someone to ask

reject-o August 19, 2009 03:37PM

But I think that's kind of the point.

Starscream August 19, 2009 06:22PM

In the end I don't like to work for prejudiced people so it works out to have long hair. nt

Someone Not Special, Esquire August 19, 2009 09:33PM

Someone Not Special, Esquire August 20, 2009 09:29AM

I'm neutral to your issue, it's just written in corporate manuals for most restuarants, and that's the reason they give. nt

Scrimbul August 20, 2009 03:14PM

So, what? They discriminate against women cooks?

The Baron August 21, 2009 03:22AM

Uh....Men and women aren't the same.
