Just wanted to a quick comment on a book I read recently, Forgotten Realms, Blades of Moonsea, Book 1. Quite a nice and easy read, lots of sword fighting and I like the interplay between the hero (a human bladedancer / swordmage) and the interplay with his halfling partner (probably thief). Quite a fair bit of interaction with deception, undead, orcs and mercenary dwarves! Forgotten Realms / Dungeons and Dragons has always had a sentimental hook on me, read it since I was in my teens and always feel the most comfortable with it.

I've been having a bit of a sad time finding good reads since my favourite heroic author, David Gemmell, passed away. Anyone with any good suggestions in that vein, new authors for example, or want to share their favourite books?
