I hope I find a good opening during 2011.. :)

Will be renting though, as I'm single and not too confident that I can land a job with a 150k+ salary..

(Lokain: I'm trying to position myself as there is a lot of buzz right now about the US opening up for online gaming, with state-by-state legislation.. Once that happens, there should be loads of opportunities for people like me:))

If you're renting, you can live like a king for like $70-90k. n/t

Death_Claw November 03, 2010 09:49AM

Your lucky. To live in a nice area in Sydney Australia you need a combined income of 250 000 + to live like this :P (n/t)

Annoying thing about earning 250k is that actually what, about 35% plush minus gets eaten up by tax doesn't it (n/t)

Returner November 01, 2010 10:26PM

That's not different than the US. n/t

Death_Claw November 03, 2010 09:58AM

40% actually I think the tax bracket here is. But the BIG companies pay you the big dollars in bonuses at certain times of the year which are outside of your taxable income. (n/t)

ilostmycoconut November 02, 2010 02:09AM

We've now got 50% tax in the UK

daurwyn(VIP) November 06, 2010 12:03PM

Good thing you guys pay with coconuts

Stevers November 01, 2010 06:28PM

I'd firstly ask yourself what type of job you are interested in

hopelessdwarf November 01, 2010 11:31AM

Also, just so you understand

Lokain November 01, 2010 10:19AM

For San Francisco if you're renting a place in a decent area

Lokain November 01, 2010 10:15AM

~150k annual combined gross income assuming your tastes aren't super expensive. n/t

Death_Claw November 01, 2010 09:50AM

Thats assuming home ownership btw for an above average place in a trendy area. For an apartment it's much less. n/t

Death_Claw November 01, 2010 09:51AM

Yes. Cut that number in half even and assuming you're renting-- you're partying like a rockstar no problem.

Jib November 01, 2010 10:49AM

Not sure I'd want to do home ownership on $100k.

Death_Claw November 01, 2010 04:49PM

Some of those numbers seem jacked up...

Java November 02, 2010 04:06AM

D_C is estimating "super-safe" numbers.

Read the OP's post.
