I had nothing against the game, but like you said the maps are HUGE. Which for me was a bit boring as sometimes you'd go 5 real time minutes without seeing anyone from the opposite side depending on what map/type of match your playing. In cod you could have killed 30 people in that amount of time.
I guess it depends on how you like to play.
And as for quick scoping, yeah I was playing the team games where you have to bomb the sites, you have four guys on your team, four on the other side. That or the team matches where its 16 ppl in the map, 4 to a team. I liked the sites personally because it was generally easier to find people. And I found with quick scoping, asides from jacking the hell out of your sensitivity, all you had to get used to was lining the person up in the middle of your screen before you double tap. I already did that before i went down the scope with other guns so it wasn't much of a transitition for me.
