You pretty much hit the nail on the head. My old roommate had a 60 inch panasonic and I have a 5something lcd sony. Beside each other mine was twice as bright as his was, when playing COD, however you could see slight trails when things moved quickly on my screen. More or less comes down to what you usually do with your tv as to which your preference will lead you to.
