Best programming language to get started in?

I know almost nothing of programming and have been jumping around looking for lessons. I've found some cool stuff on Java (youtube tutorials), Python (MIT OpenCourseWare) and am currently using [codeacademy.com]

So far my favorite is codeacademy because it's like a game. However, it teaches Javascript and I heard Python might be best for starting out.
