I think I gave up on book 7, myself.

There's too much of the dragging on and on about nothing in some of the books. You know you're in trouble when you're reading fantasy and no longer are trying to turn the page before you're done reading it. I definitely had to force myself through some of the chapters.

There was also the whole annoying habit of having the male characters do interesting stuff while the female ones sit around and talk about irrelevant things.

wrathpuppet March 27, 2012 09:35AM

First book - at least 90% in terms of storyline and dialogue

abernyte March 27, 2012 03:52AM

Think of the show as an abridge version of the book, book gives it much more glorious detail. (n/t)

ORB March 26, 2012 03:15AM

I dunno how anyone reads these kinds of books.

Kez March 25, 2012 09:11PM

That's one of my biggest complaints about the books

TJHuron March 27, 2012 05:30AM

Wanderlust- March 26, 2012 10:23AM

God the female character story lines fucking sucked.

Matrik March 26, 2012 12:25PM

I know the female storylines sort of sucked between 4-10

vortexmagus March 26, 2012 07:24PM

Not to mention Egwene's awesome defence of the tower!!!!

abernyte March 27, 2012 04:55AM

Her defiance of Elaida was just jizzworthy in every respect.

vortexmagus March 27, 2012 02:08PM

I might just read a wikipedia summary of 1-10, then start 11. (n/t)

Kez March 26, 2012 10:06PM

I liken this to "but if you play FFXIII till about 20 hours... it gets BETTER!" (n/t)

My big problem with game of thrones.

vortexmagus March 26, 2012 12:43AM

I like his books because he's willing to kill off anyone, and it's definitely not just at random. (n/t)

ORB March 26, 2012 03:16AM

Yeah, I think this is what gives the books a nice edge to them - it makes people uncomfortable, and unhappy - a good goal. NT

Batman March 26, 2012 03:35AM

You manage to do both. Does this mean you are a good book? (n/t)

satchmo March 26, 2012 11:37AM

I like the fact that everyone is flawed and the characters don't have perfect knowledge

Quas March 26, 2012 04:50AM
