It all depends on context. If it's supposed to be offensive then it is easily recognizable and I'll react accordingly, if it is all in humor then I'll laugh it off with the rest of my white friends. There are always those people who take things too far and push the boundries, and it's whatever. Interestingly enough, I've lived in the south all my life, and I've had very very few instances where I've felt really offended. All of my friends generally give me the whole " I've got a black joke for you, don't take it too seriously" thing before they say it.

By the whole react accordingly thing, I really mean I'll just shake my head and walk away. Rarely, if ever, do I let things get to me. It's just too easy for me to simply laugh it off and shrug at someone's own ignorance. Just like these boards. You just can't take shit too seriously, or you'll end up with a heartattack at the age of 30.
