I'm sure it's not going to be as good as Pro Tools or the other high end products available, but for most home-brew music creation you'll probably find more than you'll ever use. It's also free, which is great. Linux++; Cheers, Radeby Rade - OT Board
They're your practice set. You want to beat the shit out of them and hopefully not ever use them once you move out of your current hole in the wall. Presumably, when you play out you'll be using your 'real' drum set. I wouldn't recommend investing a lot of money if they're not the drums you'll use playing out.by Rade - OT Board
The Russians came up with that theory. Generally speaking, most people outside of Russia don't give much credence to the abiotic theory. It's not been a very good predictor for finding oil deposits when compared to the biotic theory. Specifically, it doesn't seem like the abiotic processes will create enough hydrocarbons to be worth mining for. It's funny that you would brby Rade - OT Board
It's plainly obvious that you don't have a good response to that... Guiding the conversation away from it doesn't make it go away. You know you can't respond to your abuse because you have almost no credibility as a VIP due to your abuse of the position. If I pulled half the crap you do on this board I'd already have been banned. It doesn't matter how many timesby Rade - OT Board
You: Yeah, but elephants are totally smart. They have complex communication mechanisms so it's not totally unbelievable that they are capable of creating abstract art. A rational person: Wow, yep. I was totally hosed by that video. I know elephants are smart, so I thought there could be something startling there.. but in fact it's nothing at all. Even though it's simply trby Rade - OT Board
You get called out for stuff constantly. Usually you wind up back-pedaling which causes the person you're trying to argue with to focus more on attacking you personally than whatever ridiculous argument you're trying to support. I have a history of posting a LOT more fringe ideas than you do on this forum and aside from a little riff with Vlad a while back I've never been one toby Rade - OT Board

Okay, so Bear Stearns (BSC) is/was the 5th largest investment bank in the US. A year ago BSC stock was at about $150. A week ago BSC was trading at $70 a share. On Friday they announced liquidation problems and the Fed bailed them out in a nearly unprecedented move by giving them a loan via proxy JP Morgan Chase. By the end of the day, the stock had dropped to $30, a 47% drop in a single day.by Rade - OT Board
It's long been known that late model Hondas and Toyotas are generally the most commonly stolen cars. Largely due to the fact that they're the most common cars period (meaning there's both a lot available to steal and their parts are in high demand).by Rade - OT Board
Our military is an incompetent nation builder, but we can kill shit like no other. Having our military in Iraq trying to nation build is like a duck out of water. It's stupid. However, we could destroy the entire nation and make it into the rubble we all joke about it being in no time flat with a fraction of as many soldiers.by Rade - OT Board
Recently Florida did a 180 on drilling in the Gulf. I can't speak for other states, but at least with respect to the oil off our borders, they can drill.by Rade - OT Board
Lortab is generally doled out in two dosages, 2.5 and 7.5mg. I had the 2.5 a LONG time ago for something else ( don't remember) and it was good at helping me sleep. Well I am in the process of getting over two flu strains simultaneously. The doc at the clinic said I was the first on she'd seen with both strains this year and that she imagined I was feeling quite miserable (which I waby Rade - OT Board
The customs department could shake down anyone they wanted at the border for no reason, confiscate their stuff, and carry weapons. The Inland revenue were jealous so in 2k4 they merged, now presumably falling under the same regulatory statutes.by Rade - OT Board
The British version of the IRS (can't remember their name) carry guns and most police over there do not. This is, of course, just something I read on the interweb... maybe a Brit can verify it.by Rade - OT Board
Your dad owed a debt to his ex-wife, just like any other debt (credit cards, house loans, etc). Before your dad's property/money goes to anyone he left it to it goes into this sort of limbo state where his debts are paid first. Then what's left goes to you (or whoever). Obviously, I'm not a lawyer, but that's the jist of what I got out of my 1 hour estate planning lecture Iby Rade - OT Board
Here's the short list of reasons I don't like him: 1) He voted for the Iraq war 2) He is buddy buddy with Jerry Falwell, the guy who said Americans deserved 9/11 for sinning 3) He hopes to appoint SCOTUS justices who will overturn Roe vs. Wade 4) After originally opposing the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy, he did an about face and started sucking the party cock so he could get supporby Rade - OT Board
