That's just me, though. If I play anymore, it is almost always just something that doesn't need other people around in order to level or learn. It would just be nice to try something different once in a while, and think I had a chance to succeed.
One of my favorite type of characters to play was a nice, neutral, gnome healer that would gate to people randomly, sanc 'em, heal 'em, give them a spring and some bread and make sure they were all good, and then gate away to go see other people or do something else. I never locked gear, because, quite frankly, I didn't need it. But I can't really play that type of character a
Specc'd mobs are alright in higher level areas, but I don't think they serve to do much in low level areas other than to make those areas rarely used unless they have good gear to acquire. But, most of those areas do not.
I think the last hunter I had was in 2008. And I didn't use a bow that often after Wilderness Familiarity, because a healing staff or spear was better and put out more damage.
...and it wouldn't likely work out in Carrion Fields anymore. I used to play in the early 2000's and probably right up to a couple of years ago. But whenever I think about making a character now, I remember that no one else is playing and the game is little more than a prep-fest.
I've never really been that into PK, and mostly stuck with the RP or exploration stuff, but from watching the forums and watching my nephew play from time to time, I likely wouldn't come back. I see barely any RP and it seems that only the preppers have a chance of doing much. And I don't feel like collecting preps for hours for a minute long fight.
And when I did have a hunter it was a Fort fellow, and I used to do "okay" lagging out of the wilds with aimed shot torso, but I'm not that PK oriented when I play. Even with the defensibility of the archery, though, I feel more survivable as most any other kind of ranger, really. And FashionBow always sucked. Worse than bows I could get at level 15.
I played one long ago when the changes first went in and I tend to play other rangers on the rare occasion I actually play now. But I remember hunters being inferior in just about every way to any of the other rangers I have played. Archery doesn't seem to defend much better than dodge/parry/shield block and they can't put out anywhere near the same damage. I just always thought they we
Haha, but really, it's good to see some people rewarded for being good players and such. But it's true, more people gone from the already miniscule playerbase.
Plus they give away free things sometimes, and also gold. Last time They were up, they gave away 1mil gold to 3 different people when they had 100 viewers.
