I'm involved in the challenge with a minor char (aka someome not critical to the overall story).
I don't know what numbers were before but they're way down on last year when I was playing last. So much so that I'm really struggling to rank up to hero.
The one other character I know involved in the challenge (as my bio mentions them) I've also never seen online.

1. Then don't get made anathema - hand your shit over like a good little RPing member of the Empire and move on with life.
2. Disagree completely - I've played characters who were purposely meant to be assholes and they weren't even evil. In fact one of my past favourite characters was a Fortie who did genuinely good deeds, fought to protect the defenceless, etc, but in doing so
Its playing an Imperial extremely well. Letting OOC motives influence your actions is just poor RP.
You could've not given it and eaten an anathema. You could've handed it over, worked your way up, ousted and anathemaed them. You could have betrayed them, revealing their location/weakness to enemies.
You had so many opportunities for fun and interesting interactions.

Are they a short role bio or will it be as detailed as providing race/class, etc.
I hope if its the latter people make the most of what they get and don't delete for having a sub par PK combo.
Emnons event begins which hopefully stirs some life back into the game.
My personal opinion of what killed CF is a perma group of cheaters which systematically over years griefed many of the decent players away.
Are you a current player and participating?
Are you currently not playing but returning to participate? (Me)
Are you returning but not participating?
Hoping they run more events like these or others, even if it is only once or twice a year. Events that enocurage a batch of players to return together and bring some life (aka player count) into the mud.
As a Giant h2h/whip spec RBW (aka facetank) it could take me forever to solo the Empire inners, especially when my CON started to get low and healing took its sweet ass time too.
I remember once the inners I had already killed repopped due to me taking so long.
Then again sometimes I'd head in, land a bruising pummel straight off the bat and finish them with ~70% of my HP.
For me buying PBF is less about getting more info (although I enjoy it) and more about thanking the IMMs who put in tons of their time, effort and own money to keep CF running.
For comparison I'll drop a similar amount of money on a new AAA game and be happy to get 1/4 the playtime and enjoyment my last character achieved.
Or maybe with number of players hitting it at once (this could be abused though).
If you're a solo defender vs. 3-4 raiders the inner should throw protective buffs on you and hit enemies much harder. It would encouraging defending bad odds and make the game more fun.
Could even use the same code that unholy blessing uses e.g. defender soul networth vs. attacker. That way you don't

I was extremely proud of this one, even the last name was IMM made and badass imo.
It probably did influence me to embrace Zah's bloodlust and become far more reckless with thirst too.
To answer your first question: titles are good recognition that I'm doing a good job. They provide a huge amount of motivation to log in more and resist deletion during the slow/stale times.
This game can be amazing at times, incomparable to anything else available.
However those times are now few and far between. I don't want to play for 200 hours to get a couple of good sessions.
Plus, to your point, the bad times are getting worse. For such a small, exclusive community, you guys really treat each other like shit.
Problem is you need to be in the room with me.
The amount of tells, CB questions, etc, I would get that I couldn't respond to. I'd run back the Village and stand around like an idiot hoping the individual might show.
Panmorne was the biggest troll (I say this lovingly). Once I wielded a cursed axe (mute = no healer) and could not communicate to the Villagers that were around me to
I think my key frustration was that that I had zero chance to do anything.
I'm a Villager, so no teleport and word.
I'm mute, so I can't call for help.
The above two challenges I'm cool with, because I chose them.
The main frustration I had was I couldn't go anywhere/do anything. They had an air form to scout, they would break down the outer to get me in the V
*** Never seen these guys before, fought them, spoken to them (at least, they've never spoken to me), yet without a word they bust into the Village.
*** Yes, I get that I'm evil and that's enough for a Maran to kill me, but killing the neutral Giant out front to get me? Again it just feels like RP is being sacrificed for the rare PK.

*** I know people claim this all the time and perhaps I'll return, but I'm really, really not enjoying the game anymore.
*** The playerbase is too small, PKs are few and far between and it results in big pendulum swings and "PK greed" like this.
*** I don't know, maybe I assume too much of people, but even I was the evilest, more sadistic character I would break R
And how did you handle it IC?
E.g. Has anyone ever typed 'k inner' instead of 'l inner'?
I seem to recall a story of how a Bloodoath typed 'kne Emperor', meaning to kneel and instead kneed the Emperor in the balls.
