So, about a week ago I rolled up an evil character. I've made it close to the 30s range, and have already been attacked by several paladins in town. I'm playing a lawful, so I tell the arbiters about it, and of course, the paladin denies the attack. Since lying is quite obviously against the code, should paladins just suck it up and admit to arbiters that they did indeed break the law? Or is there room for interpretation that allows (say, a Maran) to violate that rule since it is in the best interests for the light for him to remain unflagged (or some other reason)? Any thoughts on the matter?
