If you want to blame someone for the way Narlock interviews, blame me, I was the one who interviewed Narlock and he patterned his interviewing after me. The thing about each class using different magics was actually asked to me by Daubaen when I was an applicant and is not "proven" or "tested" but also is not as strict as you people think. I do not want masters who can go to the Lyceum copy and paste the information on the magic there and read it back to me. I want "masters of magic" people who UNDERSTAND the magics and can therefore theorize on its uses. There are many right answers to each question the only thing I insist on is that you be able to give plausible reasons why your theory would work. To give the example of 'detect invis', if someone were to say that an invoker used the power of earth to see the invis, I would not say it is wrong, but rather ask them 'how' they use the earth to see it. No applicant has said earth yet, but I would accept someone who says that they use their control over earth to 'sense' what spot said invisible person is standing on. The point of this exercise is to make sure those in the tower are able to "think". I know it doesn't make sense to actually encourage thinking in an institute of powerful minds, my god, slay me. You people saw one log of one master who was unable to think for himself and to boot, pissed off the leader beforehand. I wouldn't base my decisions of Narlock on this one post or the opinions of non-masters. To my knowledge none in the Tower are disappointed with him. Yes, the applicants that get turned down are going to be bitter and of course the fact that they couldn't come up with a plausible theory of how magic works certainly wasn't their fault it must have been Narlocks or mine. Bah. Rant all you want, but I am tired of the typical induction of "Ok, tell me of the 4 known magics" applicant says exactly what is written in the lyceum. You have been inducted into MASTER. Hm, seems a bit too easy for a cabal that is suppose to take only the best of the mages.
