Any and None.

Dwarves can be adapted to use just about any weapon but most people choose specific ones for the skills of that given weapon. Swords, Spear/Staff, Polearm for defense, Axe, Mace, Whip/Flail for lag or anti-flee, Hands, Dagger for their damage and utility. There aren't really any specs that "just suit" a dwarf but they can do fairly well with any of them if you play them correctly. So, if you're keen on playing a dwarf consider their strengths and your playstyle.

Dwarf:
Medium-high Strength = Fair/Good Parry
Medium Dex = Fair/Poor dodge
Highest Con = Huge HP pool to absorb a lot of damage
Natural resist magic, Fire, Ice, etc.
Natural resist disease/poison
Inherent1 = Nice boost to most normal damage noun weapons via forgecraft
Inherent2 = Finding hidden places you may not have noticed
Dwarf Drunk edge1 = Stronger hits while drunk
Dwarf Drunk edge2 = Slight damage redux while drunk
Dwarf Gear = Some of the highest +damage gear in the game

Some good plans for a race like that would be to pick big damage specalizations and count on the HP to last you through the fight and to take some legacies to expand on that advantage. Gates of the forge is fairly common because of the damage redux makes that HP feel like it goes much further.

Dwarf Specs that work?

Luis February 13, 2015 05:35PM

Pick two and make them work. NT (n/t)

Thrall February 15, 2015 02:16AM

I like axe hand. Lot of success before with that combo. (n/t)

Gaplemo February 14, 2015 11:22PM

Hug had it right the first time.

Demtok February 14, 2015 11:02AM

Size matters

Luis February 14, 2015 12:08PM

Pikemans valor helps a LOT

Demtok February 14, 2015 03:20PM

Don't let size fool you too much wrt to polearm

Matrik February 14, 2015 02:34PM

Listen, the only reason to really take polearm is cutoff/chargeset/ability to defend against daggers. Been some decent gnome/svirf polearm users in the past. NT

Sam February 14, 2015 02:38PM

I did axe/whip with Azilaph as a battle scout. Did pretty well (has a pbf, you can go look). (n/t)

alansmithee February 14, 2015 05:59AM

Damn you had 4 legacies? Which did you pick? (n/t)

TJHuron February 14, 2015 07:39AM

Never mind it's in the comments (n/t)

TJHuron February 14, 2015 07:40AM

Mace is great as a dwarf. Just remember you won't parry very much. Pick a spec that sounds fun, and learn of simple protections. I tried sword as a dwarf, and didn't like it either. Outside of villager, I'd go mace. (n/t)

funnyone February 14, 2015 02:20AM

Choose any 2 of these 3: spear, axe, mace. Cry of thunder + gates of the forge.

shaapa February 14, 2015 02:08AM

Wrong. (n/t)

alansmithee February 14, 2015 06:00AM

You are much worse than i thought :( (n/t)

shaapa February 14, 2015 06:02AM

Nah, you're much more foolish than I thought. Go look up Azilaph. (n/t)

alansmithee February 14, 2015 06:03AM

I remember Azilaph, and he is not reproducible anymore. About 80% of his kills came from entwine into critical spam at outer/inners of battle.

vortexmagus February 18, 2015 07:31AM

40 kills is pretty doable in under 120 hours, let alone 200+ (n/t)

Quas February 18, 2015 09:22AM

Shaapa has a point. Azilaph was pre dex changes. Axe/Whip suck for melee now. (n/t)

kanye February 14, 2015 07:15AM

Axe/whip will get body count

Quas February 14, 2015 08:01AM

Are you totaly idiot?

shaapa February 14, 2015 06:11AM

Nah, but today it seems you are.

alansmithee February 14, 2015 09:34AM

122 pks in 306 as a rager warrior isn't that impressive at all. Sorry Graatch, that char is on the low end of what you usually produced. (n/t)

kanye February 14, 2015 02:13PM

I'd like to see you beat his ratio. NT

Sam February 14, 2015 02:36PM

Something about only 9 deaths a rager doesn't seem right. Pretty obvious battle was in power the entire time this char was alive, explains the low pk win and only 9 deaths.

kanye February 14, 2015 04:17PM

Except it wasn't. It's impressive how you just make shit up to try and support your (wrong) assumptions. (n/t)

alansmithee February 15, 2015 06:38AM

Or half of it, past characters excluded. n/t

jalim February 14, 2015 02:38PM

You mean Hielikekl?

xrus February 14, 2015 09:34AM

He won't :) They changed a lot of things about that combo, so it isn't nearly as deadly. NT

Sam February 14, 2015 02:38PM

That is how they say Merry Christmas in Hawaii. I love that song. n/t

jalim February 14, 2015 09:40AM

Mace/Whip for sure, rager or non-rager nt

loknim February 13, 2015 07:56PM

Any and None.

SomeOneSpecial February 13, 2015 06:31PM

I always take one offensive and one defensive legacy on dwarves. Soul/cry is a good example. It seems to work out well. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin February 13, 2015 10:17PM

Gates is more common because top end dwarf gear has some of the best AC in the game. (n/t)

kanye February 13, 2015 07:46PM

Dwarf strongsuit is their huge pool of hp

FrostyTheGiant February 13, 2015 06:09PM

Non-rager. I'd go sword + spear/mace or mace/spear - or mace/hand hours past + gates. (n/t)

kanye February 13, 2015 05:42PM

Mace/whip has always worked for me. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin February 13, 2015 05:40PM
