It all got started when a character who:
1) Said that: "Many accept that defenders do not need to live up to such standards that Bersekers are held to - I do not accept this." (From the PBF)
2) Was told when he became DM that there were standards to live up to (PBF)
3) Clearly, CLEARLY, made a mistake and stepped outside those standards. Not in an egregious fashion, but he did.
4) Temporarily lost his leadership role as a result.
5) Rage deleted.
6) Days later, rolled up another dwarf and went completely OOC and lost his shit in game.
7) Lost his shit on the forums.
I, and most everyone else who has responded, see nothing wrong with this sequence of events. Howeve, you go around casting blame on other people for this player's meltdown. We're all adults, we should be responsible for our own behavior. It CERTAINLY is not the IMM's responsibility to use kiddie gloves under the threat that "any punishment will cause me to go apeshit." No self-respecting parent, psychiatrist, what-have-you would reward that sort of behavior.
All in all, this was policed in a totally reasonable fashion. No one was unjustly punished, no one MADE ghuljun throw the fit he did. But I'm sure that I'm not saying anything new, since this is obvious to just about everyone out there. Everyone who doesn't put on their tinfoil hat and look under every stone for some conspiracy against them, at least.
