Nah, we're all on the same page. But I've been lurking around these forums (and the ones Zulgh ran before he immed) for probably ~18 years now, and questions about the RNG come up all the time; sometimes it's the newbie who notices a streak in skill learning, and sometimes from the disgusted veteran who just failed word of recall 3 times and got killed. Some games (Dota 2 comes to mind) also use pseudo-random distributions vs pseudo-random generators, so that could be a source of confusion. I figured I'd just put together a few charts for posterity.
FYI, here's the same chart using the algorithm that Furey put into Merc. Not quite as nicely distributed, and a lot more streaky in terms of the first roll for the program. Still no practical way to game the system like you can with a pseudo-random distribution, but whatever.
