From his goodby message it sounds like if the staff's vision for the game changed to align more with his, that he might be amenable to returning.

"I've decided that it is time for me to move on, and put CF in my past. I haven't played a mortal in CF for years, and I'd rather spend my time creating the kind of game I'd want to play again. The changes I want don't necessarily line up with the rest of the staff anymore. This really isn't a new decision, I haven't put any time into CF since the end of January. I thank everyone on the staff and all the players for being part of a fantastic time in my life."
