...and you had to worry about ranking without getting killed, you could driveby these guys. Because there was/is no quick way in you could generally kill these guys and get out before someone had time to get in and get you. It was a slow way to rank, but it worked when you were alone against a bunch of enemies. I used to do what I called "circuit ranking" which was where I'd go kill one random mob for some xp in an area, teleport out, go somewhere else and kill a random mob, teleport out, go take out the guards, hang out in a shrine for a minute, go kill a random mob for xp and so on... it probably took 10X as long as conventional ranking, but eventually you'd move up. This was part of how I created swings. ;)
