Tribunal law doesn't hold a candle to even basic principles of ancient Roman law.
90% of characters are just some variation of "mages burned my village, now I hate X and Y".

And then there's ragers, full of their self-delusional hypocrisy. "Some magi betrayed us 10000 years ago so now we hate ALL magic." And do they fucking remember WHY they were betrayed? Right, because their army flipped out of control and started killing civilians and sacking cities! But they gloss that over and just act all honorable and victimized.
