the lag between applying mind control and getting your first suggestion is miniscule. A cool tactic I liked to use was coating a no-remove item like the demon faced talisman with emetic, planting then applying suggesting to wear it. of course back then it was near impossible to survive any emetic poison at all but still the tactic of using mind control before knocking out is going to be more deadly then knocking out and letting them be prepared for your mind control madness.
