I think it would be a lot easier to make it so if someone volunteers that they're new to CF they just won't be able to pick mages, at least not necro/conji and maybe muter anyway. Shifter does pretty good at low levels with the partial shifts and invoker just does a shitload of damage at all levels.

Actually, another thing that would help steer newbs towards more instinctive class would be changing the name of the assassin class back to ninja. Worked on me.
