That and...

Even without tick counters, it would be pretty easy to manage in one's head when ticks are coming and quick sleep for better regen, etc. It also makes it much easier on necros, bards, etc., to know exactly when you'll wake up from their sleep or when blind will wear off.

IMHO, the variance is a good thing.

How do ticks work?

The Baron March 11, 2011 04:48PM

As i remember it was mentioned by imms that the tick length was intently implemented unstable, so the players couldn't noth the triggers. (n/t)

Engurd March 12, 2011 10:31AM

What is the reason for the variable length in ticks?

It would be a tremendous advantage. (n/t)

Artificial March 12, 2011 06:49AM

I hate the inconsistency. It can really make dirt kick blow.

The Forsaken(VIP) March 11, 2011 05:35PM

It can still blow with regular ticks.

Murphy March 12, 2011 03:01AM

CF Turbo ftw (n/t)

HairyOrangutan March 12, 2011 07:07AM

I believe they did that just to increase the "fun" factor. Along with improved low lvl regen. n/t

Someone Not Special, Esquire March 12, 2011 01:20AM

I thought they increased low lvl regen because they nerfed the "sleep when time changes" trick... (n/t)

Rodriguez March 12, 2011 04:19AM

Ticks on this mud average 30 seconds of real time, but the actual amount varies randomly from 15 seconds to 45 seconds. (n/t)
