I just think maxing out your skills is one way for the less skilled players to get an advantage over the more skilled players. If you know you're a worse player, you don't have many options to make up the difference, aside from shit like maxing out defenses and whoring yourself for gear.

Skill practice is a waste of time for almost everyone. Gearing and prepping and finding people and chasing well are way more important. If you're consistently getting those things right then mabye it's worthwhile to practice, but even then I'm doubtful.~
