And I'd play it again but spamming traps and not getting them until late 30's is annoying. I took cheap shot and shield block, so I was looking at getting burst trap around level 40 or so and spamming up directional trap was a super pain in the ass (except where I was able to use exploits, which shouldn't be the case IMHO). Especially since the extra affects like immolate don't trigger unless you have lots of practice in those skills.
So it works like this :
Trapper - You're a pretty crappy/normal thief til late 30's. Then you get your trap skills and start farming gold for ingredients. Load up as many as you can, find an area where you can exploit setting traps without the timer getting set and spam away til you run out of ingredients. Rinse, repeat for much longer than all my other skills (including every weapon perfected and perfected defenses, trip & cheap shot) and spend hundreds of gold spamming...And *THEN* you need to rank to 42+ to get all the useful skills. And *THEN* you get to compete almost on par with everyone else who doesn't have to do all this crap and who has more than cheap shot for the first 40 levels.
Expected behavior: Setting traps should fail based on percentage, secondary affects should not matter for skill practice (it's not like blindness only blinds you when it is mastered). You should be able to set some traps, maybe fairly crappy ones, without any ingredients, if for no reason at all except to be able to practice effectively. Skills should go up much faster without resorting to exploits and you should get the skills at much lower levels. This forces you to get cheap shot later (because of the point system) but allows for some amount of actual *TRAPPER* pvp in the 20's through 30's.
