Assassinate Questions

February 27, 2013 09:53AM
Hey people. I'm a returning player, used to play about 4 years or so ago and just recently got back into the swing of things and enjoying it, though I was never more then a mediocre player.
Was wondering if someone could answer a few questions as I'm looking to start an assassin up, looks good choice for my skills.

1) When you are stalking someone and they leave the area, you can't see them on 'where' but you see them again before your stalk has 'run out'. Does that stalk still count or do you have to write it off?

2) Can you stalk more than 1 person at a time?

3)Do you lose your acumilated stalks in anyway, ie you stalked someone for awhile but they recalled and found them later on, are they still good?

4) Finally, I have read that assassinate is more successful with a lower number of stalks once you get it in the high 90's. Was wondering is the only way to increase assassinate through using the skill on other players? As my mind almost boggles how you can possibly perfect assassinate on pvp, it must take forever, esp if you have a low int race.

Assassinate Questions

Here's something that's not speculation though it doesn't answer your questions.

RobDarken February 27, 2013 04:32PM

I would never bother about glowing items.

shaapa February 27, 2013 04:43PM

yeah I think its not very good against assassins but a lot more useful against outlanders and the like~ (n/t)

vortexmagus March 01, 2013 07:58PM

I always just type the Exit command at night. If something is wearing a light you'll see the room name. nt

windoffaith February 27, 2013 06:41PM

You learn something new every day. Neat.

Jib February 27, 2013 09:40PM

I have netted 4 PKs using this tactic with current...

hug February 27, 2013 06:45PM

You'd think assassins are robust enough to handle that. Guess not always :) n/t (n/t)

Kamuela February 28, 2013 07:20AM

Works better for rangers/outlanders

hug March 01, 2013 07:54PM

Don't worry about the nitty gritty details. Most of what you get here is speculation in regards to those.

jalim February 27, 2013 12:19PM

Totally agree. Though _i think_ you can stalk a bit less with higher skill in assassinate.

shaapa February 27, 2013 04:23PM

Take it to the Stevers Q/A board. He played Wiril after all. (n/t)

Matrik February 27, 2013 11:58AM

Thankyou for the replies, Appreciated. (n/t) (n/t)

Re: Assassinate Questions

Quas February 27, 2013 10:28AM

I believe three to be utter bullshit. I've been assassinated 5 times after seeing someone. They did it a second later. (n/t)

tesline February 27, 2013 10:31AM

If the assassin is seen, it roughly halves their stalk count. (n/t)

Quixotic February 27, 2013 11:39AM

Not bullshit. You can still be assassinated with one or very few stalks. The chances just are very low. This isn't inconsistent with what he said.

Jib February 27, 2013 10:38AM

That still leaves room for Quas's assertion to be correct.

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 10:36AM

It still leaves room for it to be complete bullshit. I say Official it and get the real answer. We had been believing assassinate worked better on sleeping, in the dark, and some people depending on weapon used. (n/t)

tesline February 27, 2013 10:40AM

It's always been known that you can land an assassinate with 0 stalks.

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 11:00AM

Uh. You literally cannot assassinate someone with 0 stalks. You get a message. Also anyone who gives numbers as to the diminishing returns of being spotted or time erosion is just making shit up. n/t

jalim February 27, 2013 11:49AM

What's the echo? I want to check my logs to see if I knew this. (n/t)

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 03:21PM

Although I don't have insider access to the imms,

Quixotic February 27, 2013 12:08PM

I don't either.

jalim February 27, 2013 12:16PM

You have "inside her" access to an Imm

HairyOrangutan February 28, 2013 05:18AM

I thought there was a log...

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 12:05PM

I had good amount of stalks.

shaapa February 27, 2013 04:26PM

That was shaapa, and I full-looted that char (I think I was the reason he was naked).

Sam February 27, 2013 02:47PM

And then some years later he played a naked assassin.

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 03:20PM

...who didn't ever hide and thus didn't assassinate. (n/t)

Murphy February 27, 2013 03:44PM

You do love your full looting. n/t

jalim February 27, 2013 02:55PM

What's funny is here is the list of people I've fulled in my CF career: Quas (twice), Shaapa, Robdarken, Pro, Jerry (not confirmed, was a lowbie battle wannabe around Jindicho times). NT

Sam February 28, 2013 09:18AM

You fulled me as Jindicho. I don't remember who I was playing.

Stevers February 28, 2013 09:25AM

HAHAHAHAHA I KNEW IT!!!! You were the dude I thought might be Jerry! NT

Sam February 28, 2013 10:12AM

Wait you fulled me? I owe you a kick in the balls (n/t)

Quas February 28, 2013 09:21AM

Both Throt and Mike the Bard. Both which, to be honest, deserved to be multi'd and full-sac'd. You got off lucky. NT

Sam February 28, 2013 06:52PM

Me too. Lucky everyone I kill that I carry too much crap to even try to full loot.

Matrik February 27, 2013 03:01PM

That's a bad ass log and one of few worth reading for the thrills.

Matrik February 27, 2013 12:06PM

You have to have at least one to be able to attempt. n/t

jalim February 27, 2013 12:17PM

I wouldn't know. I always had stalks when I played Wiril. (n/t)

Matrik February 27, 2013 12:20PM

NOT AGAIN

Stevers February 27, 2013 12:31PM

There is time erosion... but it is more of a binary type of thing.

NbM(VIP) February 27, 2013 11:54AM

Alright I got this.

tesline February 27, 2013 10:02AM

Each stalk has a timer effect.

Quixotic February 27, 2013 11:55AM

To add.

wrathpuppet February 27, 2013 10:18AM

Per the Imms, the only way to improve is through success.
