If you end up liking a character in fort and they delete, remember that you liked their character and not the person playing them ;)
Also, personally, I'd rather be nexun and only have one "enemy" (village) than be Fort and have to worry about Empire and Scion, especially because Empire was booming last time I checked.
It's true that nexus doesn't have allies or enemies, and that every cabal can fall under the category of either temporarily... but that also gives you more freedom to ally with characters overall.
What I mean is, as a nexun mage you will be able to group with anyone from any cabal other than battle at some point in your characters life. When things are balanced, you choose who you group with.
If you go fort, you are restricted to good-only -- which immediately knocks out some of the more powerful people you can rank with.
No matter which cabal you go as a mage, you have to worry about villagers.
Don't want to tango with the village? Don't roll a mage. Being a nexun really doesn't have much to do with it.
Want to group with everyone? Go nexus (or herald, but that probably isn't as fun for a new character).
pls respond
