I'll actually disagree with this.

August 08, 2013 08:44PM
All the other things you name can actually be raped pretty hard core in combat. The air/offense shifter can just be walked away from if he's abs'd up. Cry is far from a very reliable power as well.

A ranger in the wild in most builds is virtually impossible to out-melee. Their downside is that most people are not routinely in the wilds. But here you can guarantee that your enemy is in the wilds, lending itself to usages that - while they may not take down as many newb ragers as simpler tactics - is certainly far more capable of taking down "serious badasses".

And forget the archon, if I could do this combo I'd do it with ABS + angel.

And by the way, where's all the people who told me insect wasn't that good on the official forums now? Wah you can never land it...yeah ok.

Since he's already whining.

When trying to flee in this situation, a couple of iceballs would have done it. (n/t)

Thoughts on explorer/marshdweller, from the original.

tongni 657 August 09, 2013 12:10AM

I think I've cut through a snare twice in like 20 chars.

Tolnum 501 August 09, 2013 10:11AM

Good advice

zoskia 479 August 09, 2013 03:54AM

To be honest, nobody really respects your abilities.

Randomguy 577 August 08, 2013 10:30AM

Heh, your post made me look at the comments in this log. What a douchebag this guy is. (n/t)

Matrik 356 August 08, 2013 10:55AM

Explorer ranger is broken

Tolnum 588 August 08, 2013 07:28AM

dafuq?

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid 434 August 08, 2013 09:28PM

Maybe he has tried too and couldn't kill a fly, which would explain he hates seeing others succeed with the combo.

Frosty 446 August 09, 2013 08:47AM

I wasn't successful with my pursuit explorer ranger because I never bothered to max pursuit

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid 375 August 11, 2013 08:11AM

Are there any rangers without haste?

Death_Claw 396 August 12, 2013 07:17AM

Seriously? Outlander enemies are as following Empire and Tribunal.

tesline 422 August 10, 2013 11:34AM

A good example of this...Azhelak and Andira (n/t)

Randomguy 359 August 13, 2013 12:28PM

I'm || close to stop reading your posts completely because you always just miss the mark.

you get broaded hometerrain bonuses at the expense of having expertise skills, seems like a fair tradeoff to me (n/t)

Quas 390 August 08, 2013 08:34AM

Being considered in "Home Terrain" has such higher bonuses...

hug 451 August 08, 2013 01:18PM

Yeah, no. You're over stating the affect of home terrain by about 9000. Maybe over 9000. (n/t)

Matrik 322 August 08, 2013 02:00PM

You play rangers? (n/t)

The amusing thing about the Andira-Azhelak relationship from my POV

Quixotic 652 August 07, 2013 08:47AM

I loved your mOnk

daurwyn(VIP) 488 August 08, 2013 03:21AM

Yeah, no communes at all until just under 200 hours.

Quixotic 474 August 08, 2013 05:39AM

I also loved this character.

NbM(VIP) 348 August 07, 2013 07:22PM

I suppose... But then again, I'd need to be playing to lose out, wouldn't I? ;) I have been considering rolling something though. (n/t)

deriveh 382 August 07, 2013 08:29PM

Roll Fjodir 2.0 and group with A&A to hunt evil.

Murphy 443 August 07, 2013 09:30PM

I would quit CF

Elystan 455 August 08, 2013 01:18AM

This whole setup annoys me...

hug 524 August 07, 2013 08:16AM

You leave wanderlust out of this debacle. (n/t)

Frosty 300 August 07, 2013 08:59AM

Thanks, I forgot to log that one

abernyte 480 August 06, 2013 10:34PM

Dear Azhelak : Pop Andira's titty out of your mouth. That is all. (n/t)

Dalbrin 322 August 06, 2013 07:41PM

Is it just the fact that they're cabal leaders that ticks so many people off?

Murphy 422 August 06, 2013 09:52PM

No

daurwyn(VIP) 504 August 07, 2013 12:05AM

Do you know if she can tess to the target if he has insects? (n/t)

cenatar 347 August 07, 2013 02:47AM

Yes (edited to say, or maybe not)

daurwyn(VIP) 409 August 07, 2013 03:18AM

Even so

cenatar 487 August 07, 2013 03:23AM

I'll actually disagree with this.

Death_Claw 408 August 08, 2013 08:44PM

Didn't he mean the combo though?

leaf 368 August 08, 2013 09:03PM

I disagree that the combo isn't OP or that those options strike me as better. n/t

Death_Claw 383 August 08, 2013 09:26PM

Not even close to better. Conjie can tesseract, AND use clairvoyance and clairaudience to assure the target is in the wilds before the tesseract/insect swarm. Its horseshit.

Gaplemo 394 August 11, 2013 12:53AM

But Even So...

hug 428 August 07, 2013 08:23AM

I don't disagree with the roleplay aspect (unless it has an awesome explanation we don't know) but only that it has some huge mechanical advantage

cenatar 405 August 07, 2013 04:13PM

At least 10 on my characters (n/t)

Elystan 346 August 08, 2013 09:17AM

I don't know so much about balance...

NbM(VIP) 517 August 07, 2013 08:30AM

Basically what I am saying is, you can't hold other people accountable for stuff that you do yourself. (n/t)

NbM(VIP) 377 August 07, 2013 08:41AM

Completely Agree. n/t

hug 299 August 07, 2013 01:38PM

Possibly in the case of binder plus shifter

daurwyn(VIP) 427 August 07, 2013 03:27AM

How is it different than gate + cry of deliverance? (n/t)

Murphy 353 August 07, 2013 12:43AM

I'll treat this as a serious question

daurwyn(VIP) 473 August 07, 2013 03:20AM

Insects means - flee quaff isn't an option. nt

minyar 366 August 07, 2013 09:36AM

Although, thinking about it

daurwyn(VIP) 434 August 07, 2013 04:50AM

The target can still flee teleport or maybe even word. among other things. (n/t)

Zruulg 328 August 07, 2013 12:51AM

Can you tess an insected target?

Zruulg 424 August 07, 2013 12:21AM

Not sure, on reflection

daurwyn(VIP) 387 August 07, 2013 04:52AM

It can to. Beastmaster/animist plus conjurer done. (n/t)

tesline 372 August 07, 2013 10:19AM

The are talking about insects. Not wasps/mosquitos/leeches/etc. Different ability. (n/t)

Matrik 352 August 07, 2013 11:12AM

Same effect. (n/t)

tesline 344 August 07, 2013 11:21AM

Insects prevent magical travel, the other don't....

Zruulg 406 August 07, 2013 11:31AM

Seriously? Damn I never knew that. I seriously thought wasps prevented wording and teleporting too. (n/t)

tesline 332 August 07, 2013 03:21PM

Not even close. (n/t)

Matrik 377 August 07, 2013 11:24AM

No, it is because conjurors are supposed to be outlander enemies and ppl have always had a beef w Fortlander anyway.......

Zruulg 397 August 06, 2013 11:23PM

I dunno.

vortexmagus 400 August 06, 2013 10:05PM

Yeah. If they actively looked for PKs together that would be sick. (n/t)

Murphy 371 August 06, 2013 10:19PM

But the fault would not be the players'

daurwyn(VIP) 395 August 07, 2013 03:24AM

You guys must be pretty bored what with all these "strong" APs running around....

sevriis 395 August 07, 2013 08:59AM

I was bored

daurwyn(VIP) 362 August 07, 2013 11:53PM

I'd be pissed if I were her because the new familiar is nothing like the RC reward (I think?) one she had before. If anything this was a severe downgrade for her character, not a perk. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin 379 August 06, 2013 10:02PM

If people read the logs with Andira in them, they would notice an odd trend.

leaf 516 August 07, 2013 03:57AM

Would be interesting

daurwyn(VIP) 457 August 07, 2013 04:54AM

You don't think such limitations (if correct of course, and logs support the idea I think) are gimping material? Man, losing out on that much seems like it would suck, RP familiar or not. (n/t)

leaf 309 August 07, 2013 07:59AM

Wish I could figure out what you guys are talking about (n/t)

Elystan 333 August 07, 2013 01:09PM

Son, we're talking about the birds and the insects. (n/t)

smashtro 349 August 07, 2013 01:32PM

Finally, someone who gets me. (n/t)

leaf 346 August 07, 2013 01:35PM

There's no place for reason in this argument. Return to flaming. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin 303 August 06, 2013 09:55PM

Flaming is so expectable and boring. I prefer to go outside the box! (n/t)

Murphy 354 August 06, 2013 10:00PM

NO! Murphy you GET BACK HERE AND GET BACK INSIDE THE BOX! Bad BAD Murphy! Get in there! (n/t)

Matrik 329 August 07, 2013 06:30AM

Is that a litterbox joke? Stop trying to coax me into playing hello kitty! (n/t)

Murphy 339 August 07, 2013 02:33PM

I just love this community at times, but there are times when I hate it...but I love you all.

bloodmoon 361 August 08, 2013 09:59AM

In the past few months Murphy has definitely joined my list of favorite posters. (n/t)

Matrik 367 August 08, 2013 10:09AM

Probably didn't summon to water because he didn't know you were there.....

Zruulg 396 August 06, 2013 06:53PM

That was counter productive. (n/t)

sevriis 377 August 06, 2013 06:09PM

Dude, posting this isn't going to do help anything.

Frosty 474 August 06, 2013 05:57PM

You talk as if he had any other options

torak 459 August 06, 2013 05:30PM

"Super evade" works against area spells as well, and in this case (non marsh) only works because of heavy rain fall. He'd of been much better off blinding and running for the river (which is right next to him). (n/t)

Rhyaldrin 335 August 06, 2013 05:37PM

He did run

torak 405 August 06, 2013 10:45PM

Pretty sure wanderlust works with swampmire

zoskia 437 August 06, 2013 05:45PM

Wanderlust has nothing to do with swampmire, just the weather. This is also a large part of the reason why Explorers lose control weather. (n/t)

Rhyaldrin 305 August 06, 2013 05:45PM

Are you 100% sure? I thought I have seen it work for marsh/explorers in no rain weather, so I assumed it worked off wanderlust.

Frosty 380 August 06, 2013 06:16PM

It works off of two things; weather and terrain

Dalbrin 468 August 06, 2013 07:49PM

Doh

daurwyn(VIP) 380 August 08, 2013 03:28AM

Can ask Daev on officials, but I'm 95% sure. (n/t)
