With banolic I took on a rager zerker axe in the arena and even when he thirsted he died.

The only ones that were problematic were ones with retaliatory hits. High dex sword specs and dagger specs. And them only until you've maladicted them to hell. Unless the dagger spec does it to you or the sword spec hits you with enough active skills before you maladict them up.
