You were with a Mage. Even though he fled and healed the time gap is small enough to consider this one continual engagement.

While not all village roles would press to finish off Mage mates once the Mage flees its also fine to follow an engagement to its end.

This is a far cry from coming at you 2 hours later or on the other side of Thera.
