You should have had that role from the beginning, but tone it down to where the "crossing the line" bit is only hinted at. And be good-aligned. Then get into Maran, and start adding chapters that detail your descent into evil. Then, eventually, get kicked out and turned evil. But not in a "bad" way, since it would have been in your role the entire time.
