To continue this way for a bit, disbelieving that he's evil. Then one day (in his role) he'd kill a woman who tried to defend her evil husband, and she'd look almost identical to his wife. At that point he'd realize what he truly was. The char would hate himself, and sink to a new low.
Then I'd add another chapter about Berroxus (however it's spelt), and my char coming to believe he was one of those damned people in his religion. I was sphere destruction too. I'd seek him out and make offer of some sort about bring pain and suffering to evil.

From there I'd really let the interactions decide how it'd pan out, but I figured it'd be fun along the way.
