My guess is you imperceptibly shorten your stride a little when you are wearing sweat pants

February 05, 2014 04:26AM
Try running in shorts with a conscious effort to use a shorter stride length. If possible, aim to have a mid-foot strike, rather than a heel-toe stride, this is both better for you and will force you to have a shorter stride.

Tearing or breaking "stuff" is not something inherent to sprinting. You're doing it wrong if this is happening. Don't spread misinfo. (n/t)

qurdind February 05, 2014 05:18AM

Don't you think a 255 pound guy who doesn't run should start slower, though? (n/t)

wrathpuppet February 05, 2014 05:49AM

It really depends on the person. Their medical and athletic history come into play.

qurdind February 05, 2014 08:06AM

Having read a lot about running in the past year...
