For example, I think that because Hillary has faced a dozen congressional investigations and multiple investigations from the FBI and still come out squeaky clean and not in jail, she's probably not guilty of anything and most of the accusations against her and the DNC are Trump propaganda. Similarly, many of the accusations leveled against Trump for this election (like the sexual assault junctions) are just propaganda bought and fueled by the Democrats - if there was any real substance to them, the authorities would have investigated and sent Trump to prison. Since I have less information than these authorities, I am not particularly interested in accusing either candidate of these things.
That being said, the DISCLOSE act was incredibly close to being passed. It needed 60 votes to pass, and the Democrats + Independents had a 59 vote majority. So if even ONE Republican decided to cross the party lines and vote in this anti-corruption bill, it would have gone in.
I think words are easy to deceive and mislead with and we must look at actions to tell the truth behind each candidate. This is why I don't like Trump, because he has no political record so we can't evaluate how good his promises are, vs Hillary who does have a political record, and while she's not great she mostly follows through with what she says. I also think its really strange that people accuse Hillary of being corrupt, when she has released all her tax returns and we have a lot of details in the Clinton's personal finances, while Trump released none of his tax returns and we have no idea what his personal finances look like. It seems to me that all the room for corruption is on Trump's side.
