Actually, I kind of think it is absurd.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that Hillary isn't on a VP ticket if Obama wins the primary. I see her as too big of a personality to settle for VP. Furthermore, I don't think Obama latches onto any kind of Hillary campaign if she wins it. It's incredibly rare for the #2 of the primary to latch on with the winner. First off, the 1 and 2 took so many potshots at each other that they would look like hypocrites. Secondly, the candidate generally wants to find someone who's more or less his exact opposite to attract as many voters as possible. If you take Hillary and Obama on one ticket, they aren't going to steal any red states at all. Furthermore, they might have a tougher time attracting some of the more blue collar blue states as well. I'd bet $100 that Clinton or Obama (assuming one them wins) guns heavily for a Southern Boy to round off their ticket. The obvious choice would be John Edwards but who knows if he'd settle for being the VP candidate yet again and who knows if anyone wants to risk him as a running mate again (since he lost last time with Kerry).

The local news think that it looks like Obama vs McCain.

A Hillary/Obama ticket is not absurd to consider, and is a likely win nt

It's only rare in the last twenty years

ExPaladin(VIP) January 05, 2008 02:19AM

It's not that common

jegec January 06, 2008 01:13AM

You misunderstood me, I'm talking about the winner picking the #2 guy in the primaries as his running mate

ExPaladin(VIP) January 06, 2008 11:30AM

Fair point. However,

I pointed out Bush, Reagan on purpose. Who do you think first called trickle-down theory "Voodoo economics"?
