...and I never even finished Prophecies, so that tells you how much I cared for the PvE. The story and cinematics seemed pretty boring to me when I knew I could go jump in an arena fight or possibly convince some guild to let me GvG with them. Playing around with builds always appealed to me the most. PvE can be fun to me if played with friends though. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the infinite levels doesn't bother me since the structured PvP will be even.
I'm making a modern, urban MMO with an emphasis on crime. I'm not silly enough to attempt to make one from scratch; I'm using a MMO game platform that charges 10% of revenue, which is fine with me since I don't have funding and it saves me a lot of headaches. My primary reason for doing it is because I think there's a huge demand for a game like this and I've enjoyed dabbling in game development my whole life. Will be available free of charge and without a subscription. We'll be using a microtransactions business model like that of Maple Story and Silk Road Online, and in-game advertising (which fits with the urban setting).
