Is you can say whatever you want, without ever being expected to back it up. I don't personally care about your life, but we both know that you're lying about at least a good portion of your post there. And if you're not, then you've probably just given up. Either way, it's sad.
I do have a question for you, though. Who decides when an occassion "calls for it"? Is it impossible to mourn someone in flip flops and a wifebeater? Are they going to be offended from beyond the grave?
You wear a suit because you don't want people to think you're disrespectful.
And a first date? Why are you going to dress in a way that you don't normally? I mean, if you're not tryin to impress her, what's the purpose? Exactly. You behave differently in order to make the first impression which you want. You're proving my point. There are obviously degrees to which people go to impress others. Some go much farther than is necessary or healthy. We all know those people. Other people don't go far enough. You can usually find those people at Walmart at 1am on a Tuesday night. You laugh at them behind their back. Don't even pretend like you don't.
The entire human experience is interacting with other people. Trying to make a good impression, so that future interactions go as well as you want them to. That's the idea, that's a fact of life. There isn't anything sad about it.
Everyone acts like me, to some extent. They just don't want to admit it.
