After watching the Republican Convention (up until McCain's speech), it is clear that:
If I want a candidate that is not going to support amending the Constitution of the United States to discriminate against gays, I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that is not going to trash the 4th and 5th Amendments (or, in Palin's case, mock people that think the Constitution should be respected and obeyed), I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that is going to preserve a woman's right to choose, I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that is not going to push for my children to be force-fed religion in schools, I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that is legitimately going to explore alternative fuel sources, I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that believes in Global Warming, I have to vote Democrat.
If I want a candidate that believes in States RIghts on issues such as gay marriage and marijuana, I have to vote Democrat.
These are just the polarized viewpoints we have to live with, and that Palin reinforced with her speech - which was why I cringed during it. I found McCain's speech more interesting because he resisted openly taking a polarized stance (granted, he let his party take it for him :P).
