I was saying that if you want to learn something, you learn it better through observation and doing it than simply by observation. It better prepares you for actually applying the knowledge. Do you think you can learn all there is about pking in CF without ever playing, and only by reading QHCF? That's silly. If you were going to teach someone how to catch a football, would you be better off only reading about it or reading about it and practicing it too?
Would you rather learn about Jersey from someone who read about it and visited or who just read about it? Can you know what the smell is really like? I do.
Let me put this another way then. If what you're saying is true, then you should be able to know exactly how Jersey smells without visiting it, right? So if you smelled something similar, you could say, "Hey, this smells like Jersey."? I don't think so. I think you know stuff (like a smell or how to throw a football) better through observation and experience than someone who only reads about it.
