My money would be on a humongous asteroid, something as large as a mile or two wide could probably take out life on earth in a day right? At least us humans. But wouldn't we see it coming by now? So I think that's out.
Something like a catastrophic disease couldn't happen fast enough to kill us in one day, could it? No disease works and spreads that fast so thats out.
Giant volcanic eruptions? I don't think that could take out everyone in a day.
Earthquakes? Ditto.
A huge solar flare or something? I dunno.
Do we have enough nuclear weapons to destroy every human on earth in one 24 hour period? I'm sure there's some folks in the middle of Africa who would last until 12/22.
What else? it'd almost have to be something supernatural to take
everyone-- 100% of humans out within the next 24 hours. In a weird way, maybe we'd be lucky to see something like that.
"The future is unwritten."
